Patna: Preparations for the Bihar Municipal Elections-2022 are in the last phase. Guidelines have also been issued by the State Election Commission. In Bihar, the term of the municipal body has already ended, but due to some reasons the elections could not be held. Now the election activities have intensified. From the formation of the polling station to updating the voter list, the preparations have reached the final stage. The preparations of the State Election Commission for the municipal elections are in the final stages. The State Election Commission has announced the date for the formation of the polling station and the publication of the voter list for the civic elections. The constitution of the polling station and the publication of the list will be held on August 29. The work of marking the booths and entering the number of voters in the software will be done between July 9 and July 18. Any kind of claim or objection on this will be made between July 19 and August 1. The final approved list of polling stations will be published. In the fourth phase, the draft of delimitation of 9 municipal bodies will be published on July 19. The voter list of the remaining districts of the first phase except Patna will be published on July 9.
The State Election Commission has issued special instructions regarding polling stations. According to the instructions of the State Election Commission, maximum 1 thousand voters will be able to cast their votes in each booth. The polling stations set up for the Lok Sabha and assembly elections will be made booths for that ward. Voters should have a polling station within a maximum distance of 2 kms. While issuing instructions, the State Election Commission has said that no polling station can be built on any police station, hospital, religious building or disputed land. A maximum of 4 polling stations can be set up in a building. Voters residing at a particular place will be linked to the same polling station
