Web Journalists Association of India’s workshop concluded
Patna:. The importance of web journalism cannot be denied. Web journalism has brought information revolution in the society. Society will be benefited greatly if web journalism makes its credibility credible. The Public Relations Department convened a meeting soon to resolve the problems of web journalists. These things were said by the Minister of Water Resources and Information and Public Relations, Government of Bihar, Sanjay Jha on the occasion of inauguration of seminar cum workshop organized by Patna unit of Web Journalists Association of India.
He said that today in the era of information revolution, every person in every village is connected with mobile phone. Every news reaches the people in a minute or so. All this is because of web media. He said that earlier people used to read newspapers, then started watching TV and now they are updated with news on mobile. Mr. Jha said that in a survey he found that the same number of people who watch TV at the present time also keep an eye on the web media and are their viewers.
Minister Jha while advising the web journalists said that you should make headlines according to the news, only making sensational headings and showing misleading news reduces the importance of your journalism. He said that you should do the work of taking the better works of the government to the common people through your media.
He said that it is the result of the initiative of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar that now digital media will also get advertisement in Bihar. The policy has come for advertising to digital media. We would like that the program and policy of the government should also be publicized through digital media. The government has created a category for web media on the basis of hits. I will try to do better in this. For this, I will very soon call the representatives of the Web Journalists Association and take suggestions from all of you.
While discussing the importance of web media, the Executive Chairman of the Bihar Legislative Council, Awadhesh Narayan Singh said that the truthfulness of the news is most important. Your acceptance is increasing. Acceptance should increase but credibility should not decrease. He said that there is no need to tell the importance and impact of web media in the modern era.
MLC and BJP National Spokesperson Sanjay Prakash Mayukh while discussing the impact of the news of web journalists said that there are many such news which are viral first and then come in other media. Even the news coming on a small portal is capable of creating panic.
MLA Rakesh Roshan, while discussing web journalism, said that at present, web media is the most powerful medium of information. If the web media does the work of giving prominence to positive news, then its credibility will increase.
Presiding over the function, National President of WJAI, Anand Kaushal, while discussing from the formation of the organization to the detail, explained why this organization was needed. He said that WJAI has its own self-regulatory body which controls the news of its member portal. He also discussed in detail the expansion of the organization.
Earlier, Praveen Bagi, president of Bihar State Association, while welcoming the subject and guests said that the organization is conscious of its work. For the past decade, web journalists have been fighting for their existence. Our fight is not only for survival but also on the economic front. We expect cooperation from the government. We welcome all the incoming guests to this program. We hope that web journalists will also get due respect.
Social worker Raju Danveer, especially present at the function, appreciated the role of WJAI in the fight for the rights of web journalists. He said that the role of web media is most important in the present era. It is a big challenge to deliver news with credibility, which the members of the association are showing through portals.
Earlier, WJAI’s Patna District President Suraj Kumar, Vice President Suraj Kumar, Akhileshwar Sinha, Secretary Brajesh Pandey welcomed the guests with bouquets and emblems.
While conducting the function, National Joint Secretary of the Association, Madhup Mani “Piku” explained in detail about the activities of the organization.
The inaugural session was addressed by WJAI National Treasurer Om Prakash Ashk, National Secretary Nikhil K D Verma, Dr. Leena, Bihar Vice President Balkrishna, Secretary Anoop Narayan Singh etc.
In the second session of the workshop, senior journalists of Bihar gave many tips on journalism. Those people gave their views on what type of content to use in web journalism and what not to.
,Senior journalists Dnyaneshwar, Ravi Upadhyay, Amitabh Ojha, Hemant ji, Om Prakash Ashk, Dr. Leena, SN Shyam, Dr. Kishore Sinha, Ashok Mishra etc. gave many journalism tips to young journalists in the workshop.
