Alcheringa, the annual cultural festival of IIT Guwahati and the largest cultural festival in Eastern India, hosted its audition for its 27th edition, at BIT Mesra, Patna Campus, on 12th November. This Mega Cultural festival is scheduled from 2nd to 5th February at IIT Guwahati. The event was sponsored by Creative Imprints LLP Patna.
The most distinguished guest of the event was IAS Ashutosh Kumar Verma, and IAS Birender Prasad joined the event as a distinguished guest.
The event was also attended by Mr. Arbind Kumar, Director BIT Patna and Mr. Shridhar Kumar, Associate Professor-cum- Co-ordinator, BIT Patna.
Alcheringa host such auditions all over the country and abroad to bring the best of talents from all the regions to make the competition at Alcheringa the most diverse and significant, as said by Mr. Quasim, Media and Outreach Head of Alcheringa IIT Guwahati.
Each competition had spectacular performances.
The Jury panel was full of the masters of their respective fields. Mrs. Neelam Choudhary, IAS, Director, GPF, Bihar-cum-Director Ninad, along with Dr. Sheel Shalini, Prof. Dept. of CSE, and Abhijeet Manish Monal, Western Dance Expert, were on the panel for Dancing Module.
The singing module was judged by the panel of Deepak Thakur, an Eminent Singer, and Mr. Pankaj Kumar Sinha, IRS, PCMM, Eastern Railway. Mr. Arshad Firoj, BAS, Chairman, Government Urdu Library, Patna along with Aradhana Prasad, Eminent Poetess, Pravej Alam, Librarian, Urdu Library, Patna, and Prof. Girish Pathak, Prof. Dept. of Mechanical were the panelist for the Literary module. For the rap battle Mr. Prithviraj Burhgohain, an Eminent Rap Performer, and Dr. K.P. Prof of Physics, BIT, Patna.
The winners in each competition have been invited to Alcheringa IIT Guwahati to participate in the grand finale, which will be held from 2nd to 5th February 2023. Alcheringa will bear the travel expenses for the winner and runner.
