Murli Manohar Srivastava was born in a simple family of Dumraon in Buxar district of Bihar. He struggled a lot in his life. He never turned his back on his hard work and writing, even after facing lakhs of difficulties. He credits his father Shashi Bhushan Srivastava for the inspiration of his writing. It is said that he had seen his father making films and composing stories in his childhood, from there he got inspiration and Murali became a better writer. His father had brought Bismillah Khan Saheb to Dumraon in connection with the Muhurta of a film.
