1857 The contribution of Ran Bankure Babu Veer Kunwar Singh in the first freedom struggle cannot be forgotten. This 80 -year -old warrior of the princely state of Jagdishpur in Bihar had cruised the teeth of the British. Fought 15 wars in 9 months and conquered all. Babu Veer Kunwar Singh has contributed significantly to the heroes of the first battle of independence of 1857. Raja Ran Bankure Babu Veer Kunwar Singh of the princely state of Jagdishpur in Bhojpur (Ara) district of Bihar was preparing to fight the battle and Dharaman Bibi was ready to do Kadamam with him. Meanwhile, on 27 April 1857, the soldiers of Danapur revolted against the British. Ara reached from here and then traveled to Jagdishpur. On reaching Jagdishpur, these rebel soldiers accepted the leadership of Babu Veer Kunwar Singh and to fight the British in different parts of the country. Babu Veer Kunwar Singh fought the first battle of independence by coordinating among many groups and played an important role in it.

                            Many works have been done by the Nitish government in memory of Babu Veer Kunwar Singh to make and motivate Babu Veer Kunwar Singh aware of the bravery and sacrifice. In which many works have been done to conserve the fort ground in Jagdishpur, the birthplace of Babu Veer Kunwar Singh and develop it as a tourist destination. Jagdishpur Fort has been developed as a museum, where people come to see from far and wide. Bihar ancient monuments and archaeological site remains and under the Kalanidhi Act, 1976, his birthplace was declared a safe monument by the Government of Bihar. His contribution in the 1857 freedom struggle in the memorial complex is displayed through Terracotta Mural. In view of the work done in the interest of Babu Saheb in the interest of Babu Saheb, the naming of the Agricultural College in Dumraon in the year 2015 has also been named Veer Kunwar Singh Agricultural College. The bridge over the Ganges river between Ara-Chhapra was named Babu Veer Kunwar Singh Setu on 11 June 2017. On April 23, 2018, the Harding Park was renamed as Shaheed Veer Kunwar Singh Azadi Park and his contribution through Terracotta Mural is shown in this park. A memorial has been constructed in honor of Veer Kunwar Singh at Shivpur Ghat of Shahpur block of Bhojpur district. This is the same place where Babu Veer Kunwar Singh cut his bloodstream arm and flowed into the Ganges. Students are taught by the students by including Babu Veer Kunwar Singh's contribution in the heroic story and freedom struggle. Babu Veer Kunwar Singh University has been named after Babu Saheb in Ara. The Buxar-Bharauli bridge on the Ganges river connecting Bihar-Uttar Pradesh has also been named Veer Kunwar Singh Bridge. Apart from this, on the initiative of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Veer Kunwar Singh Vijayotsav is celebrated as a state ceremony on 23 April. Veer Kunwar Singh worked for the society beyond the spirit of caste-religion, high and low. From the beginning, Bihar has been setting the example of Ganga-Jamani Tehzeeb
