Buxar : Dumraon Sub-Divisional Magistrate has imposed restrictions on the movement of heavy vehicles on National Highway-120 within the Dumraon urban area to ensure smooth and safe traffic flow during ongoing road repair work.
The order, issued under Section 152 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), prohibits the movement of heavy vehicles, including commercial vehicles carrying sand and stone chips, on the stretch of NH-120 from Dumraon Petrol Pump to Purana Bhojpur until the road repair work is completed.
However, the movement of buses, light vehicles, school vehicles, ambulances and other passenger and essential-service vehicles will continue as usual. Essential-service vehicles having six or more wheels will be permitted to operate between 10 pm and 5 am.
To regulate traffic during the repair work, officials have been directed to install barricades at key locations and take necessary measures to prevent heavy vehicles from entering the restricted area.
Barricades will also be installed near the Dumraon Petrol Pump and at the NH-922 underpass, among other required locations.
Authorities have warned that vehicles and operators violating the order will face action under the relevant laws.
The District Transport Officer, Buxar, will deploy Motor Vehicle Inspectors and Enforcement Sub-Inspectors to ensure that heavy vehicles and trucks carrying sand and stone chips do not enter the Dumraon urban area. The Dumraon Sub-Divisional Police Officer will ensure enforcement of the order through the police stations concerned.
The restrictions come into effect from August 26, 2026, and will remain in force until the completion of the road repair work.
The District Public Relations Office, Buxar, said concerned officials have been directed to take all necessary measures to ensure compliance with the order and maintain smooth traffic movement in the area.
