Buxar, August 28: Buxar District Magistrate Sahila conducted a surprise inspection of the Sub-Divisional Hospital, Dumraon, during the night of August 27, 2026, to assess the quality of healthcare services and arrangements at the facility.
During the inspection, the District Magistrate reviewed various aspects of hospital operations, including medical services, cleanliness, availability of medicines, ambulance services, healthcare facilities for patients, and the attendance of doctors and other health workers.
The District Magistrate directed the hospital administration to introduce a digital display system showing the availability of medicines, enabling patients and their attendants to easily obtain information about the medicines available at the hospital.
She also instructed officials to ensure the availability of a stretcher at the hospital entrance and to operate a “May I Help You” assistance counter to help patients and their families.
During the inspection, certain lapses and shortcomings were found in the hospital’s functioning. Taking note of these issues, the District Magistrate directed officials to seek an explanation from the Block Health Manager. She also instructed the concerned officials to take immediate steps to improve the hospital’s arrangements.
She directed that the duty roster of doctors and healthcare workers be clearly displayed on the hospital premises. She also instructed officials to ensure proper RO drinking water facilities and maintain the toilets in a clean and functional condition.
Regular monitoring of all facilities being provided to patients was also emphasized.
In addition, the District Magistrate directed officials to take necessary steps to start the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) facility at the hospital at the earliest.
Further she made it clear that negligence at any level in providing timely and quality healthcare services to patients would not be tolerated. Officials were specifically instructed to pay close attention to cleanliness, medicine availability, ambulance services and patient facilities.
