Patna: To promote employment among the youth, the Nitish government of Bihar is constantly engaged in writing a new script on the path of progress. In this episode, the state government will help those who open Dhabas in Bihar. According to the decision taken by the Bihar government, a grant of up to Rs 50 lakh will be given for opening a dhaba in the state. The Department of Tourism, Government of Bihar has made a comprehensive plan to provide roadside luxury dhabas, restaurants as soon as it enters Bihar via Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and West Bengal. The tourism department will open more than 150 luxury dhaba-restaurants and convenience centers on all roads connecting tourist centers in the next three years. For this, 23 routes leading to tourist centers have been identified by the department. Special attention has been given to the roads connecting Varanasi, Gorakhpur and Kushinagar in Uttar Pradesh. The tourism department has decided that 40 premium and standard dhaba-restaurants will be opened on these 23 routes, while 60 infrastructure dhaba-restaurants are also planned to be opened. While there is a plan to equip 60 already running dhaba restaurants with better facilities, a provision has also been made by the tourism department to give grant ranging from 10 lakh to 50 lakh to private investors and operators.
For the convenience of tourists, convenience centers like 18 luxury dhaba sites will be opened on the Gopalganj-Muzaffarpur-Darbhanga-Supaul-Purnia-Kishanganj route, which has been identified as the East-West corridor. This route is the longest which starts from the UP border and goes till Bengal. In this, three premium and standard and 4 basic facilities Dhaba-restaurants will be opened, while the already operating 9 Dhaba restaurants will be made equipped.
There are plans to open 12 luxury facilitation centers on Madhubani-Supaul-Araria-Kishanganj road and 11-11 on Bhagalpur-Banka-Jamui and Vaishali-Saran-Siwan- Gopalganj routes. There is a plan to open 10 luxury facilitation centers on Patna-Ara-Rohtas-Mohanian, Muzaffarpur-Motihari and Bakhtiyarpur-Biharsharif-Rajauli routes. The tourism department has decided that interested investors will apply to the tourism department to take advantage of such a scheme. Applicants who will have their own land on the roadside for dhaba-restaurant will be given more concession. Preference will be given to upgrade the existing luxury dhaba running on minimum half acre of road side land. A grant of up to Rs 20 lakh will also be given for this. Here food plazas and restaurants with a seating capacity of 50 to 60 persons, freshening facilities, 24-hour electricity-water system, first aid facility area and parking area have been made mandatory. A 7-member committee will be formed under the chairmanship of the Managing Director of Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation for evaluation and review of the facility proposals on NH, which will take the final decision on it. A report will be given to the tourism department after getting physical verification of the site and the existing structure done by the DM of the respective districts, the final decision is to be taken on the basis of land ownership to location
