Buxar, September 1: Buxar District Magistrate Sahila conducted a surprise inspection of the Community Health Centre (CHC), Simri, on Tuesday to assess the availability and quality of healthcare services.
During the inspection, the District Magistrate reviewed the biometric attendance system to check whether doctors and other hospital staff were maintaining full attendance.
Several employees, including a Medical Officer, clerk, health educator, data entry operator, nurses, ANMs, family planning workers and a data analyst, were found to have reported late.
Taking note of the delay, the DM directed the Civil Surgeon, Buxar, to seek explanations from the concerned officers and staff and withhold their salaries until further orders.
Poor Cleanliness Found in Hospital
The inspection also revealed a lack of cleanliness in areas including the emergency ward and toilets.
The District Magistrate directed the Civil Surgeon to take necessary action for the suspension of the Block Health Manager in connection with the poor sanitation and maintenance of the facility.
Family Planning Counselling Room Found Locked
The Family Planning Counselling Room was found closed during the inspection. The DM directed the Medical Officer in-charge to explain the circumstances and clarify why the room was not operational.
Staff Contact Details to Be Displayed
The District Magistrate instructed the hospital administration to prominently display the mobile numbers of all doctors and staff posted at the hospital, along with their shift-wise duty schedules, on a board at the main entrance or another clearly visible location.
She also directed officials to make the hospital’s Help Desk or “May I Help You” counter fully operational to assist patients and their attendants.
The inspection was aimed at ensuring accountability, timely attendance, cleanliness and better patient services at the community health centre.
