Buxar: Today, on 25 September 2026 District Magistrate, Buxar, Sahila, inspected important historical and tourist sites in the district, including the Battlefield of Chausa, Battlefield of Buxar, and Ramrekha Ghat, in accordance with the detailed action plan submitted to the department from the perspective of tourism development in the district.
During the inspection, the Assistant Collector, Officer on Special Duty, District Public Relations Officer, Junior Engineer, Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation, concerned Block Development Officers, and representatives of the urban local bodies were present.
During the inspection of the Chausa Battlefield, the Executive Officer of Chausa Nagar Panchayat was directed to ensure proper cleanliness of the park, availability of public amenities, and appropriate maintenance. Directions were also given for installation of necessary signages, repair of the approach road from the Buxar–Chausa main road to the battlefield, and regular cleaning of the area. Instructions were also issued to preserve the archaeological remains found at the site and place them at a safe and appropriate location. The Nodal Officer-cum-District Art and Culture Officer was directed to inspect the site immediately and take appropriate action.
During the inspection of the Buxar Battlefield, necessary directions were issued to strengthen cleanliness, lighting, signage, and security arrangements. Appropriate measures were also directed to be taken for the safe preservation of the inscriptions located within the premises. The Sanitation Officer, Buxar Municipal Council, was instructed to arrange immediate cleaning and ensure proper maintenance of the site. Directions were also given to get the approach road to the historical site repaired through the concerned department and to ensure regular cleaning of the road, proper lighting, and installation of necessary signages.
The District Magistrate also inspected the progress of the ongoing construction work of the Experience Centre near Ramrekha Ghat. The executing agency was directed to expedite the construction work and ensure the required progress. It was also instructed to ensure adequate arrangements for clean drinking water and toilets for the workers engaged at the construction site.
The Sanitation Officer, Buxar Municipal Council, was directed to ensure regular cleanliness and sanitation arrangements at Ramrekha Ghat, along with the approach road to the Experience Centre.
