Buxar : A review meeting on the continuous updation of the electoral roll was held on Monday in the Collectorate, Buxar, under the chairmanship of District Election Officer-cum-District Magistrate, Buxar, Smt. Sahila, in accordance with the directions of the Election Commission of India, New Delhi.

All Electoral Registration Officers, Assistant Electoral Registration Officers, Deputy Election Officer and Sub-Divisional Election Officers were present at the meeting.

During the meeting, in accordance with the instructions issued by the Election Commission of India on 29 September 2026, it was clarified that in states where Special Intensive Revision (SIR) is underway, a declaration form may be required along with Form-6, as per the prescribed procedure. However, in states where the process of Special Intensive Revision has already been completed, there is no requirement to submit a separate declaration form along with Form-6.

In the state of Bihar, the process of Special Intensive Revision has been completed. Therefore, eligible citizens in Buxar district who wish to get their names included in the electoral roll are required to apply only through the prescribed Form-6. There is no requirement to submit a separate declaration form.

The District Election Officer directed all concerned officials to clearly communicate the above provision to all Booth Level Officers (BLOs) so that eligible citizens do not face any inconvenience while submitting their applications.

Further, as part of the continuous updation of the electoral roll, all Electoral Registration Officers were directed to conduct a special campaign for the inclusion of eligible voters who have been left out of the electoral roll, particularly young and newly eligible voters.

The District Election Officer appealed to eligible citizens that if their names are not included in the electoral roll and they fulfil the prescribed eligibility criteria, they should apply through Form-6 for inclusion of their names in the electoral roll.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Election Officer, Buxar; all Electoral Registration Officers; Assistant Electoral Registration Officers; and Sub-Divisional Election Officers, Buxar.
